Hi everyone!
Samsung Reactivation Lock v.s Google FRP Lock, which lock do you have? Both security features are made to keep your device & personal information safe. There are very distinct differences between the two, but many device owners are not briefed about their security & how the features are triggered. Let’s talk about it!
Google FRP Lock

Google’s factory reset protection (FRP) security feature was introduced to all Android devices during the release of lollipop 5.1 back in 2015. The FRP lock is triggered when an Android device is hard reset without signing out of the Google account. Google’s feature prevents flashing, software changes, & overall access to the device, until previous Gmail credentials are provided.
Samsung Reactivation Lock

Samsung’s Reactivation lock was released in April 2014 with Android version 4.4 KitKat. The security feature is triggered when a new SIM is inserted into a Samsung device. Along with the lock, location tracking is turned on in case the device was lost or stolen. Providing your Samsung account information will disable the lock.

Unfortunately, it can be easy to forget Google or Samsung credentials which makes it difficult to access our mobile devices.
